Recently, I have been to Shanghai and I discovered this really awesome place where they sell really cheap and reasonably good quality goods. I highly recommend this street known as Qi Pu Lu. It is really near Nan Jing Xi Lu but it closes at 6pm. Remember to do some bargaining but please honour your last offer after they compromise or they could be very nasty to you!

I personally will not suggest going to Qi Pu Lu unless you're prepared to "fight" with the crowd and you dont mind chaotic mess with ppl spitting next to you!

The things are cheap there especially if you have an excellent skill in bargaining. However, i feel jaded to go through the whole process of bargaining every single buy from coin pouch to cargo luggage.

Yu Yuan market sells the usual touristy stuffs. It is a good place to buy souvenir to bring back home for your family & friends.

Qi Pu Lu- Not for everyone

It would depend on your liking. Qi Pu Lu is populated by the young and is famous for their wholescale pricing. Yuyuan Bazaar has the resemblance of temple like buildings and probably is a tourist attraction only because it mass sells local delights.
OH! there is Nan Xiang xiao long baos ( it was 20HKD for one then) but you would have to queue for at least half an hour but its nothing fantastic! It was unique i guess cause it was the size of my palm and i had to use a straw to drink the essence. Other than that, probably only the cheap silk scarfs are worth a look at.

I got lectured really harshly when i did not honour the end of my bargain after purchasing the product. they literally yelled at me and even as i walked away, they would still be screaming after me. it was really embarrassing.
