Who would say no to fun? It is no wonder that theme parks dominated a list of
world's 50 most-visited tourist attractions by Travel & Leisure (T&L) magazine.
As these fun factory giants continue to draw crowds, we see five
amusement parks emerging in the top 20 list for 2011.
With 10.5 million annual visitors, Disneyland Paris tied with
Sacre-Coeur, a prominent monument of Paris, at 17th spot.
America also dominated the list. T&L attributed the growth of 8.7 per
cent of foreign tourist from the previous year to the weak US dollar - and a
surge in local travel.
While China and India did not show up much in the list, T&L expects to
see more of them in future with Beijing's Forbidden City surging through the
ranks from 7 million visitors in 2007 to 12.83 million visitors in 2010.
According to T&L, where we spend most of our vacation time is
suggestive of what we value.
